25th Annual Book Discussion Series,
2007-08
We meet on the first Wednesday of each month from
10 – 11:30 a.m. at Congregation Beth Ami. If you would
like to join our group, we can always make room for
a few more. For information call Susanne Batzdorff at
538-9731
On March 5 our topic was Palestinian Lover. Ethel Schy
bravely led this discussion. Opinions were divided.
While most agreed that this book was not up to our usual
standard of literary quality, we learned something about
Jewish-Arab relations in pre-state Palestine.
Our program continues as follows:
April 2: The Yiddish Policemen's Union
May 7: Panther in the Basement
June 4: Suite Française
July 2: Freedom: The Story of My Second Life
Complete
list of books and details.

Rosh Chodesh Nisan
Sunday, April 6
The Friedman Center
If Purim has passed, can Pesach be far behind? Join
the Rosh Chodesh women for a final fling with chametz
on Sunday, April 6 at 11 a.m. in the Friedman Center.
We'll enjoy a potluck bagel brunch (bagels and "fixin's"
will be provided) as we welcome the new month of Nisan,
talk about women at Passover, and begin to make the
transition from our ordinary "chametz" lives to the
traditions and rituals of Passover.
Please bring a brunchy snack to share and non-perishable
chametz to donate to the Redwood Empire Food Bank.
All Jewish women are invited ... synagogue affiliation
not required. We're looking forward to celebrating with
you.
